STYLE

I started my business with paper jewelry. I made thousands of pieces and had many collections made of this material. This kind of jewelry reveals my cheerful side. It is colorful, bold and above all very light. It is mostly part of my spring and summer collections when people like to wear bright colors.

Recently I started to explore African color combinations and drawings which I incorporated in some new pieces made of paper and I intend to keep up with this style.

Copper or brass wire is other material that I use in jewelry making. Pieces made out of copper are in vintage style. Because of oxidizing they have that “old”, antique look. This kind of jewelry is elegant and sophisticated. It is coming in earthy colors and is part of my fall and winter collections. It is mostly inspired with epic fantasy, old world's, mythology and history.

I'm always keeping up with popular trends and try to incorporate them in my work. Will I succeed depends on how much I like the trend. Luckily, new boho style I like very much. Especially because it gave me ideas how to combine my two main materials - wire and paper.

DESIGNING PROCESS

Every jewelry collection I start with research. First I explore colors and styles for the upcoming season on internet and in boutiques. It became my habit to analyze what women wear whenever I'm outside. So if you catch me staring at you, please don’t think I’m odd.
After research I start with sketches of my new collection. I always try to make a theme. Sometimes it is based on color, sometimes on shape and sometimes it can be inspired with some book, movie or even some event that I make it specially for.
When I finish my sketches, fun part starts. Making new items and watching how drawings becoming nice pieces of jewelry.

MAKING PROCESS

First thing I've learned in jewelry making was rolling paper stripes to make beads. Very easy, but also demanding technique. Measuring, drawing lines, cutting and finally rolling, demands a lot of time. Recently I started to make some paper mache beads also. Paper had to be soaked in water for some time and then blended with mixer. After adding little bit of white glue, paper paste is ready for making beads. After 24 hours of drying I can finally use my creative side and paint them. When all beads are made I can join them in some new, never seen before, design.

Making wire jewelry demands much more skill. If I buy it on a junk yard, first I have to untangle it and clean it. Then I can start with work. My sketches are the basis for wire work. I use them for measuring and making shapes of thicker wire. When all elements are folded, hammered and sanded I start with wire weaving (joining all elements with wrapping very thin wire around them). When piece is made, next step is oxidizing. That gives copper that old, antique look. Final phase is polishing and photoshooting can begin.

WHY IS THIS JEWELLERY SPECIAL?

It is unique. Every piece that I make is my idea only. It is coming from my head and it is result of all my experiences. I can be inspired by some style or even other people's work, but I will interpret it in my way.

It is environmentally friendly. Recycling is very important for me. My paper beads are made of old newspapers, magazines, flyers, calendars and paper bags. Wire jewelry is made of secondary raw materials - electric wires that people don't use anymore.

WHAT CUSTOMER CAN EXPECT FROM ME?

My customer is everything to me. I watch, research and listen her wishes. I design and make for her. Five years of experience taught me to observe everything. Sometimes customer don’t know exactly what she wants. Sometimes she’s got an idea but not sure if it’s a good one. In those cases my experience is very helping. With quick look I can tell what would look good on her. I analyze her style, body shape, face shape, color of the hair and eyes...all that can help me to give her advice. If someone wants to buy gift for another person, I can also help if I just see few photos of her.
Beside one of a kind items that I can make for my customers I can also help her to choose the one that fits her perfectly.
